Scooter rider injured in collision in St Mary's Street, Lincoln

UPDATE - 3.25pm: St Mary's Street has now been reopened. The 67-year-old driver of a Skoda pulling a trailer was uninjured.

A scooter rider suffered leg injuries during a collision in St Mary's Street, outside Lincoln Central railway station, this morning.

The road remains closed at the junction with High Street, near the level crossing, during lunch time.

Police, who were called at 11.36am, advised drivers to avoid the area.

The moped was a silver Yamaha registered to an owner in Washingborough.

Police said they were investigating the incident, which also involved a car, but said the cause was not yet clear.
