ENERGY giant RWE npower renewable is asking county residents to continue sending in their views on plans for one of the world's biggest wind farms.

As reported in the Echo last Saturday, Lincolnshire County Council officials fear plans for Triton Knoll, to be based off the Mablethorpe coast, could harm onshore tourism, farming, traffic and nature.

RWE npower is looking to build an electricity substation, which the county council believes could have a negative impact on the surrounding area.

Four sites have been proposed for the substation, including land near Sloothby, Greet Steeping, Monksthorpe and Welton Le Marsh.

Triton Knoll project manager Jacob Hain said: "We are keen to hear from anyone with knowledge about any of the potential substation sites. I would strongly encourage residents and businesses to ensure their knowledge and comments are incorporated in our scheme."

“I think you'll find that your post implies that people who can't spell are witless morons. Phraseology is just as important as grammar in enabling others to elucidate the meaning of a sentence. Perhaps you should remember that next time you get on your 'High horse' regarding the standard of other people's English.

As for people not having the 'divine' right to go through life without being offended, whilst that may be true - some people are offended by the most benign things, making non offensive behaviour almost impossible 100% of the time - everyone does have the legal right not to be subjected to needless offensive comments like yours. If you were really so clever then you would find a more constructive way of expressing yourself. Also, you may have noticed that the Echo spell checker is marking British spelling as wrong ie,, behaviour and American spelling as correct ie,, behavior. Perhaps you should have a go at them, since as a public figure they should be setting the standards.”

    “Emma,

I totally agree with your synopsis of society making constant grammatical errors and never punctuating properly.

I do find your 'angry old men' style rant very amusing - generally I can't stand corporate buzz phrases but we do 'sing off the same hymn sheet' on this one.

    Keep up the good work,”

“Mark, I didn't say that all people who can't spell are witless morons, so get off your high horse.

That aside, I really am sick of people falling over themselves to find something offensive in everything. It's not like they have some divine right to go through life without being offended anyway. I'm offended whenever I look at ITV's schedule, but I don't go whining to Ofcom about it.”

“Emma, I'm really offended by your comment made at 12.28. I'm dyslexic and find spelling very difficult yet I'm doing a degree in chemistry and always get really good grades. Hardly a witless moron then am I???

That said, I'd be interested to see the facts caring conservative based his comment on. to say that the sum total of power production from 10 wind-farms is nill sounds a little foolish to me. I think CC just doesn't like wind-farms but we all want electricity and it has to be generated somewhere. Personally I'd rather they build a nuclear reactor somewhere in the Lincolnshire countryside complete with it's own waste processing plant and storage facility or even better a few more oil refineries - then there will be plenty of jobs for me to choose from when I graduate :-)”

“Actually, the idea of idiots on treadmills in gyms producing electricity is quite seductive, despite where it came from.

Susan, punctuation and grammar help people understand what you are trying (unsuccessfully in your case) to say.”
