Amateur and professional filmmakers are being invited to submit productions to the county's biggest film festival.

Each entry will be watched and considered for inclusion in Lincoln Shorts, which will take place on Friday, February 8.

Films, which must be less than five minutes long, should be submitted through the event's website before January 1 next year.

The event, at Lincoln Drill Hall in Free School Lane, will feature a range of the best county productions and live music.

After the sold-out second installment of the festival this spring, event founder Tim Johns is expecting the night to be another hit.

"It's definitely not just an event for film-lovers, the sheer range of what we show keeps it good fun and really entertaining," he said.

"We've also got a brilliant local band lined up to play a few songs and keep the event engaging and fun for everyone."

Last year the festival featured award-winning animations, comedy sketches from local YouTube superstars, music videos and exclusive previews of forthcoming Lincolnshire feature-films.
