If you are in the mood for the craic, the Celtic Dream show promises the "true spirit of Ireland" when it comes to the Palace Theatre in Newark.

Pete Tobit, show creator and director, explains what that means to him: "In my opinion the true spirit of Ireland is great music and dance.

"We are all about entertainment and it's all about having a good time.

"I have tried to bring together what would embody a great Irish night out."

The production, which is currently on tour and arrives in Newark on Friday, February 24, combines traditional dance, vocals including the Dream Tenors, music and glittering costumes.

"Nothing beats the drama and the excitement of watching dancers with hard shoes giving it their all," says Pete.

"All the dancers are going to blow everyone away.

"I hope everyone leaves with a sore throat and aching feet from singing along and jumping up and down."

The Dream Tenors are a trio of talented young male vocalists who were recently invited by Tourism Ireland to support music icon Van Morrison at St James' Palace especially for Irish ministers and members of the royal family.

Dream Tenor vocalist John Ward has also penned a positive and uplifting national song for Northern Ireland titled Home.

Pete says: "For anyone in the audience from Ireland it will be a taste of home and for everyone else they will be able to have a good time and think this is what Ireland is all about.

"With everything we do it's got to be about the audience enjoying themselves.

"We want to see people singing along and having a craic."

Celtic Dream at Palace Theatre in Newark on Friday, February 24 at 7.30pm. Tickets: £19.50, £17.50 concs. Box office: Box office: 01636 655755, www.palacenewark.com
