Sixth annual Festival of Bathing Beauties to begin on Lincolnshire's coast
A WEEKEND packed full of arts and culture gets under way on the coast today.
The sixth annual Festival of Bathing Beauties promises to fill Sandilands, Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea with music, dance, pyrotechnics and a packed programme of entertainment for the whole family.
The event celebrates the unique beauty, culture, architecture and history of the Lincolnshire coast and prides itself on a reputation of being the longest linear arts festival in Europe.
Town manager Karen Froggatt said: "This year we have had record interest in those wanting to take part in the festival and have had to turn people away due to the beach huts being full.

On Friday night, the festival will be launched Under the Colonnade in Sutton on Sea from 7pm where there will be a performance by Allcock and Brown, Delphine film showing, vintage teatime, stalls, Pimms and Pipers and Dave Wood poetry reading.
The fun then continues throughout Saturday and Sunday along the coastal strip.
Beach huts along the promenade will also be filled with displays by local crafters with everything from cards to candles and jewellery to photographs on show.
