CHARITY SHOW: Members of Skegness Musical Theatre Company are pictured in rehearsals for their show For One Night Only, which will raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The company has been performing in the town for 48 years and its talented local cast is well known for a variety of shows from Oliver to Thoroughly Modern Millie.
This year however, SMTC has chosen to do something a bit different and will perform a special one-off show with profits being donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
SMTC chairman, Andrea Hall, said: "The last few shows have been so successful we wanted to thank Skegness for providing such great talent and loyal audiences.
"We wanted to give something back to the community and as most people know someone who has been touched by cancer, we chose MacMillan who do such a brilliant job."
SMTC will be treading the boards at the Embassy Theatre with songs from hit West End and Broadway musicals such as Billy Elliot and Les Miserables, and will be joined by a group of young performers from the Lisa Jay Stage Institute with Lisa also choreographing the show.
Fundraising manager for Macmillan, Gemma Shaw, said: "We are delighted that Skegness Musical Theatre Company have chosen Macmillan Cancer Support as a charity they wish to donate to. The event sounds fantastic and a real night to remember.
"The money raised will be spent in the local area and will help provide Macmillan services for anyone who is affected by cancer."
For One Night Only takes place at the Embassy Theatre on February 24 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £13 for adults, £11 for concessions and family tickets are available for £36.
