Director of Music Jim McQuade has been with the band since its formation in 1998 and has developed the group into one of the finest wind bands in Lincolnshire.

He is urging people to get their tickets as soon as they can.

Mr McQuade said: "The band has been performing concerts for the prom since the very first one.

"The prom is always a sell out and a fantastic night is enjoyed by all who attend.

"The Poppy Prom is a major event on our calendar each year and we are honoured to be a part of it."

This year there will be music to mark the Olympics and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The Poppy Prom has been organised in conjunction with The Target and the Sleaford and District RBL with support from Lincolnshire Co-Operative Funeral Services which offers its limousines for the evening.

There are 500 tickets but these are selling fast.

Tickets are £7 from Wilcox and Carter Jeweller, Bristol Arcade, Sleaford.
