First Sleaford Fun Run a success
THE Sleaford Fun Run could become an annual fixture after the success of the inaugural event.
Runners helped raise around £450 for Sleaford mayor's chosen charity, Autistic Children.
They tackled the three mile course between Sleaford Cricket Club and Four Seasons Garden Centre and back on September 22.
And Mayor Brian Watson was delighted with how the day turned out.
"When we started out we were not sure how much money we would make but £450 is a great achievement," he said.
"It was great to see so many runners and everybody enjoyed the day.
"We were being asked whether it would become an annual event and I think we may do it every year after the success of it.
"It was a lovely day which wouldn't have been possible without all the sponsors and the help of Peter Nadin organising the event."
The winner of the men's, women's and children's races received trophies with medals for runners up. All other participants were presented with certificates.
