The passion for birds started when Mrs Boden bought a small set of chickens for the family two years ago and William asked if he could borrow one to enter the junior class of a show held by the East of England Poultry Club at the end of 2010.

After the show William became "hooked" and the following year he saved up to buy more quality birds of his own and entered a number of shows run by the club.

Last year William gained a number of 'firsts', one 'Juvenile Best in Show' and was invited to attend the Poultry Club of Great Britain's National Show to have a look around and be shown what to look for in a quality bird.

This year William has won 'Juvenile True Bantam', 'Juvenile Best in Show' and 'Reserve Best in Show', 'Junior Handling Classes for True Bantams' and his first 'Bronze Star' from the PCGB at the Autumn show held by the Norfolk Poultry club.

To cap the year off William was crowned 'Juvenile Points Winner' by the EEPC.

William shows Sebrights, a breed of chicken, which come in gold or silver and to prepare for each show William has to wash the birds, paying special attention to their feet as well as combing them.

This year it is the 200th Anniversary of the formation of the Sebright Club and there is a dinner at the National Show, with a gold and silver theme.
