Sleaford man who fractured friend's eye socket in drunken assault is jailed
A MAN who left a friend with a fractured eye socket after carrying out a sustained attack has been locked up.
Marcus Norton, 23, of Carre Street, Sleaford, called at the home of his victim wanting to discuss some gossip he had heard.

Michael Cranmer-Brown, prosecuting, told Lincoln Crown Court that Norton accused his vistim of spreading gossip about a third person and then, without warning, struck him in the face.
He said: "It caused Mr Tomlin to stumble backwards. The defendant pursued him and pushed him into the flat."

Norton delivered further punches which sent his victim to the floor. He then repeatedly punched him before kicking him and stamping on his head.
Mr Cranmer-Brown added "The final thing he did was to headbutt Mr Tomlin on the right side of his face before leaving."
Norton admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent on 22 October 2011. He was jailed for four years.
Recorder Christopher Goodchild told him: "This was a very serious offence indeed. I accept you were probably out of control through drink and that contributed to what happened. When he was on the ground you kicked him repeatedly and punched him."
Christopher Lowe, defending, said Norton was ashamed of his behaviour and apologised for what happened.
He said: "He accepts responsibility for his actions and has shown remorse.
"When he comes out of custody he wants to put this type of behaviour behind him once and for all."
