Sleaford students create seed-industry inspired animated films for art festival
STUDENTS currently studying BTEC Art and Design at Kesteven and Sleaford High School have been putting their digital skills to test by designing and devising some short animated films.
The Year 12 students were given a "live brief" by artsNK to produce a promotional film for their bi-annual arts festival taking place on October 20 in Sleaford.
Zygote will be spectacular with live action dance and acrobatics; digital film and animation; light installations; kinetic sculpture; drama; music; sound installations and pyrotechnics.
Zygote explores the theme of seeds and germination as a creative celebration inspired by Sleaford's connection to the seed industry.
Marion Sander, co-ordinator of the event, said: "The standard of work was particularly high reflecting the themes of seed, fire and light. Three final pieces were presented to us by Claudia Martin, Laura Wight and Grace Clarke all of which we want to use as part of our promotions throughout the year."
In recognition of their hard work and contribution to the project, artsNK will be presenting the three students with £50 each.
