SIEMENS AC

TWENTY-ONE members of Siemens AC visited Wold View Fisheries at Claxby on Saturday to fish their annual Fur and Feather match.

It was a day which was more suited to sunbathing than fishing with a very light breeze and bright sunshine for most of the day.

Ian Snowden (Lincoln) drew end peg 19 on the bank where the wind had been blowing for the last couple of days. Ian caught a few fish in the margins and also fished pellet on the pole at 14 metres where he caught most of his fish on the drop to weigh 59lb 7oz and a comfortable victory.

On the same bank and just two pegs away was Steve Wilford (Lincoln) at peg 17. Steve opted to fish the pellet feeder and he finished the session with 20lb 11oz.

Third place went to Rob Thorley (SPRO Lincoln Whisby) from peg six. Like the majority of the field Rob struggled to get the carp feeding so targeted the silver fish where he caught well. Rob also caught four carp to boost his weight to 20lb 5oz.

IMP AC

The tidal Trent at East Stoke was the venue for the latest match in the Imp AC Calendar.

Although the wind was behind the anglers making fishing the waggler ideal it was the maggot feeder that won this event.

Pete Ray drew peg 36 and opted to fish the feeder three quarters across the river and he won the match with 5lb 2oz.

What made it better for Pete was the fact that peg 36 was the golden peg.

Runner-up from peg 23 was Jim Baggley. Jim opted to fish the waggler halfway over and he finished the day with 3lb 10oz.

Third on the day was Glenn Walker. Glen also fished the waggler at peg 17 where he took 2lb 3oz to the scales.

The week before the Imp AC visited Wapping Drain and this match was won by Trevor Darben who landed a tench of 4lb 11oz for his victory. Second place went to John Watson who had 3lb 10oz and third, with just 1lb 11oz, was Nigel Cook.

MONSON ARMS AC

Saturday saw 18 members of the Monson Arms AC visit the tidal Trent at Laughterton for their latest fixture.

The river was running off all day and the water was very clear which resulted in the fishing not being too good.

It was new club member Ben Howsley who took the honours. Ben was fishing a river for the first time but this did not seem to bother him as he won the event with a weight of 6lb 6oz of perch caught on the feeder to worm and maggot from peg 36. Ben also won the biggest fish of the day competition with a perch of 1lb 3oz.

Second on the day was Ray Smith at peg 30. Ray also fished the feeder with maggot and worm where he caught perch and roach to end the session with 3lb 12oz.

Graham Farnsworth took the third place. Graham used identical tactics where he also caught perch and roach and he finished with 3lb 4oz.

JK MIDWEEK AND SUNDAY SERIES

John King (Lincoln) made it two wins in two matches this week when he won both of these events.

Last Sunday the venue was Thimbleby Lake Two and John won this match from peg nine. John fished the pole at seven and 11 metres to finish the day with 76lb 6oz.

Bridesmaid on the day was Paul Mosley (Windmill Tackle) who fished paste on the pole at peg 13 to take 49lb 4oz to the scales. Third on the day was Robin Hood. Robin offered meat on the pole at peg 2 to take 46lb 4oz.

Sunday saw 13 anglers turn out at Priory Lake Two and John King won this match from peg 74. John caught late on in the margins with meat to finish with 50lb 8oz.

Brian McKeown was the runner-up from peg 76. Brian fished paste on the short pole to land 24lb 4oz.

Third, with a weight of 22lb 12oz was Pete Allen. Pete drew peg 87 and fished the long pole with cat meat where he caught his fish late on in the match.
