Spalding pensioner will face crown court trial charged with causing the death of a cyclist
A SPALDING pensioner accused of causing the death of a cyclist will face a crown court trial.
Magistrates refused jurisdiction of the case after deciding it was too serious for them to deal with.
Walter Coupland, 80 of Winsover Road, did not enter a plea to a charge of causing the death of Kenneth Usher, 77, through careless or inconsiderate driving.
Mr Usher died after suffering injuries when his tricycle collided with Coupland's car in Parson's Lane, Whaplode Drove, in February.
