Spate of distraction burglaries
POLICE have issued a countywide warning after a spate of distraction burglaries.
Six incidents were reported to police across the county on Thursday and Friday last week.
Now, Lincolnshire Police are reminding residents to be vigilant when answering the door to potential offenders.
Incidents occurred in Lincoln, Grantham and Stamford and police say they are investigating any potential links.
DSI Gibson said: "A distraction burglary is where an individual will use a trick or distraction to gain entry into someone's home to commit a burglary.
"To help reduce the chance of being a victim of this type of burglary, remember, if you are not sure who it is at the door do not open it.
"If you can, call a relative, friend or neighbour to check the person's identity before you let them in."
