Spilsby has missed out once again
I AM writing to you with regards to your front page article, October 23.
As a former long-term councillor of Spilsby, I am puzzled, and amazed, that the town council did not apply for money for funding for our town.
We have certainly lost out again whilst Mablethorpe, Alford and Skegness receive good publicity, funding and most of all, the title of 'town team partners'.
The Mary Portas scheme is what this town needed to turn around the closures of businesses and shops.

After all, it is no good having/gaining free parking when there is no businesses/shops to go to.
We have lost out on direct mentoring from retail experts, and even more potential funding.
It seems to me that we have not applied for any funding from Government or European initiatives which often doubles as initial funding is granted.
How can we entice new businesses to Spilsby when we continue not to use potential opportunities of funding such as this?

“Often its easy to criticise, but much harder to get involved in own local issues.
