Stamford's Wharf Road igloo smashed by vandals - builders 'upset and disappointed'
Stamford's 'coolest' property has been smashed by vandals leaving the trio who built it 'upset and disappointed'.
Brothers Eric (25) and Lewis Clayton (28) and their friend 24-year-old Adrian Gilbert spent the best part of three days constructing the impressive igloo in Wharf Road.

The smashed igloo this morning.
But this morning motorists reported that the ice house had been destroyed.
Eric told stamfordpeople: "We are really disappointed and upset about it.

"My brother put a note on the igloo last night asking people not to damage it because it had taken us a long time to build and lots of people were enjoying it.
"That might have been what prompted the vandalism.
"I went out this morning to see if I could patch it up - but it's not going to happen.
"But wait until it snows next - we're going to build a whole village!"
Residents and motorists are also disappointed that the igloo has been vandalised.
One motorist told stamfordpeople: "It's a real shame.
"It looks like someone has jumped up and down on the roof and it's collapsed."
While Sheena McCulloch, from Stamford, said: "The top's been smashed - it's cracked like a half-eaten Creme Egg!"
The igloo caused quite a stir in the town with the builders spotting at least 150 people taking photos.

“"But this morning motorists reported that the ice house had been destroyed"
Reported to who exactly? Was this really news in the first place, will we get a day by day news report as its melting???????
Weve got some real stories on other subjects not covered and reported on properly and then we have time wasted on this..........twice now !”

“Mindless individuals with nothing better to do than destroy someone else's handy work. I hope these guys get to build something bigger and better next time it snows.”
