Stockport County v Lincoln City - Jake Sheridan suspended for clash
Lincoln City will be without the services of winger Jake Sheridan for their trip to Stockport County tonight after the club's appeal over his red card was turned down.
Sheridan was sent off in the first-half of the Imps 1-0 win over Dartford at Sincil Bank on Saturday in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Lincoln City winger Jake Sheridan will miss tonight's trip to Stockport
After reviewing the video evidence the club lodged an appeal. However, the Football Association stuck with the referee's report and Sheridan now faces a three-match ban, starting tonight against Stockport.
Imps boss David Holdsworth admitted that Sheridan's absence will be a blow and that his sending off will have had a physical impact on the team.

"I was proud of how well the lads did on Saturday, to be playing with a man down for over 60 minutes and show the discipline they did was exceptional," said Holdsworth.
"To be overloaded like that for such a long time is a tough task and on Monday morning we were considerate with the training to make sure the lads were as fresh as they can be for tonight."
Holdsworth did stress, though, that the team had gained a big confidence boost from the win over Dartford.
"Fighting with 10 men, doing as well as they did, has really lifted the team," said Holdsworth.
"We might be missing Jake, but the rest of the team has picked itself thanks to the tremendous showing that they put in against Dartford."

“I wonder why Holdsworth declared it was a waste of money appealing. And then all of a sudden we DO appeal. And then it is turned down. So somebody should have listened and saved money.
Sheridan has been consistant. But a right midfielder was not worth a punt. Had it been a goalscorer, captain or centre back maybe worth a punt. But not for Sheridan, especially when the manager guessed the outcome.”

“Holdsworth is getting his excuses ready should we fail tonight. Sheridan does not make the difference between winning and losing. However industrious he is we are not a one man team.”

This statement by redimpsfan doesn't appear to be very negative to me salfordimp! Grant you he doesn't seem to be too impressed by Smith, but then many other Lincoln fans share the same opinion.”

“Dear redimpsfan (so called),
I admit now that I have given you a negative rating on your post.
It is not because you support the Imps but just to your negative thought's that you give out (on all your posts).
And yes i was at the match last Saturday, if you was talking about by gone seasons when Nat
Brown was played as left back then I would agree with you, but not in this instance.
Please just get behind the team and stop being so negative for a change.
Regards. Yours turley.”

Oh! Oh! I do hope Smith hasn't been included in that group. Jake Jones did enough to warrant a start. He did more in five minutes than Smith achieved in the rest of the match.
UTI!”
