CASH has been ring fenced by Boston Town Area Committee to help fund community projects which may emerge from residents who live in town centre wards.

Help is to be offered to any residents who wish to come together to make a difference to their neighbourhood.

The initiative will operate in a similar fashion to the highly-successful Placecheck project, which has seen some areas of Boston form new neighbourhood action groups to draw communities together as well as tackling issues such as litter, graffiti and making improvements to the areas in which they live.

Placecheck advisers Maddy Eyre, Boston Borough Council's local communities officer, and Mandy Exley, Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service community development officer, will make their expertise available to bring residents together to work with key service providers to effect change.

Maddy Eyre, Boston Borough Council's local communities officer, said: "We can help local residents understand what improvements they could make to where they live and use our experience, knowledge and contacts to put them in touch with the agencies best placed to assist.

"When the Daisy Dale area of Boston was chosen as the Placecheck pilot area it benefited from improvements in kind worth £60,000 thanks to good partnership working with other agencies."
