A college student has warned that bike thieves are out of control in Lincoln after two of his motorbikes were stolen.

Gavin Wilson, 18, worked at a supermarket in his free time to pay for a £1,500 black Honda motorcycle – only for it to be taken from his back garden.

Within a month, he replaced his bike with a £2,000 blue Suzuki – and thieves then took this as well.

Days later, the Lincoln College student was told by police that officers had recovered the Suzuki.

But Mr Wilson, of Staverton Crescent in Birchwood, has been left wondering whether it is safe for him to ever ride a motorbike in the city again.

"The Honda was my first bike, and I used it for going to school and to work," he said.

"I spent a couple of months searching for a replacement bike, and when I saw the Suzuki I thought it was nice so I bought it.

"I couldn't believe it when it was stolen from the Morrisons car park when I was at work."

“I respectfully suggest Gavin makes his motorcycles more secure, or failing that, moves to Saxilby.”
