Edwards told the court he had been 'stupid' and 'idiotic' and that he planned on going back to college.

After standing the case down to hear from a probation officer, Edwards was made subject to a three-month custodial sentence suspended for 18 months and a requirement to attend a thinking and learning skills programme.

He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs.
