Success of Louth Nipper leads to a bigger bus for residents
A WELL-USED bus service is proving so successful that a bigger bus is being launched to meet demand from passengers.
The Louth Nipper bus started serving passengers in 2010 after residents called for a dedicated round-town bus service.

SERVICE EXPANDING: The Louth Nipper will be able to serve more passengers as Lincolnshire County Council plan to extend the service by providing a larger bus.
Initially starting on a 12-month trial on a 'use it or lose it' basis, the service has proved so popular that Lincolnshire County Council who subsidise the Nipper, want to provide a bigger bus to enable more passengers to use it.
The new bus will not be a coach style bus, but will be bigger than the present 16-seater vehicle.

The Nipper operates on a circular route linking the south and north of the town via the bus station on Church Street.
Over the next few weeks, the new bus will be tested to make sure it is big enough for passengers but still small enough to negotiate some of Louth's tight streets.
Once testing is complete, the new bus will be operational from April 1.
Louth's Mayor Councillor Jill Makinson-Sanders said the Nipper is important for local businesses.
She said: "This service is really appreciated by the community and it is excellent news that the service is going to be improved even more.
"It would be lovely to see the routes expanded to encourage more people to use the bus rather than their cars and I have had requests in my ward for the Horncastle Road area to be included.
"I support positive moves to keep people shopping in the town centre, our excellent independent retailers will be pleased with this good news."
Lincolnshire County Councillor, John Hough, for the Louth South ward said: "I am really pleased the service is being expanded. It is something that residents put a lot of pressure for a round-town Louth bus service and since it was launched, it has remained well used. It's popularity has been recognised by the county council so much so they want to develop it further.
"This shows that people are using it and it is generating income.
"People find it a really useful service. It runs at times that people want and it goes to where they want to go. We have had situations where people can't get on the bus because it is full so this shows it's popularity."
