'Suspect's bravado led police to his door'
Alleged mugger Peter Gamblin proved he was no criminal mastermind by answering the phone he'd just stolen in the street and told the caller his name and where he lived!
Detectives arrested their prime suspect after he allegedly answered his victim's phone and gave his personal details in "an act of bravado", a jury heard.

Lincoln Crown Court
Gamblin is alleged to have answered the call on victim Jonathan Franke's phone just minutes after robbing him of his wallet, a chain and a watch and the mobile.
During the attack in Newark Road, Lincoln, Mr Franke was punched several times and knocked to the ground as the items were taken from him.
Prosecutor David Outterside told the jury at Lincoln Crown Court that Mr Franke had been talking to his friend Joseph Dale on his mobile phone as the attack started.
Later Mr Dale rang to check to see if he was ok.
Mr Outterside said "The phone was answered. Mr Dale realised it was not Jonathan Franke speaking.
"It was a rambling man on the other end of the phone."
Mr Outterside told the jury the man said "My name's Gambo. Peter Gambo."
"He was ever so full of bravado and gave his address. He said 'come and see me at 153 Boultham Park Road'
"He had just completed a robbery and perhaps thought he was on top of the world.
"The defendant then taunted Joseph Dale and issued threats to him."
Gamblin , who says he is a victim of mistaken identity, is then alleged to have remained on the line for 42 minutes without speaking any further before ending the call.
Mr Outterside said "The threats were issued and the defendant then stopped talking to Mr Dale. Perhaps he didn't know how to hang up the phone."
Gamblin, who was living at 153 Boultham Park Road, Lincoln, was later arrested and picked out by Mr Franke at an identity parade.
"He was interviewed afterwards ad said he was not responsible for the robbery. He said he was at his sister's house at the time.
"Mr Franke was most certainly robbed. The issue is whether you can be sure that it was the defendant who robbed him."
Giving eveidence Mr Dale said he was on the phone to Mr Franks when he suudenly heard a voice saying "Give me your money"
He told the jury he made svereal attempts to ring his friend after the phone went dead but went straight to voice mail.
Eventually somebody answered the phone but Mr Dale said: " It didn't sound like Johnny."
(Mr Franke)
Mr Dale said the man replied' "Yes" when he asked if it was was Johnny but then later gave a different name.
"He said 'My name is Gambo - Peter Gambo if you want to come and see my mates we'll kick your head in'."
The man then gave an address on Boultham Park Road where he could be found,
Gamblin ,24, of Boultham Park Road, Lincoln, denies robbery in the early hours of 5 September this year. The trial continues.
