Swimmer Lizzie Simmonds targets long-course success in Hungary
Lizzie Simmonds insists the Commonwealth Games can wait as she first sets about breaking her individual international long course medal duck at the European Championships in Hungary in August.
Simmonds was officially confirmed in the 35-strong team bound for Budapest at a British Swimming warm-weather training camp, sponsored by British Gas, in Mallorca.

The 19-year-old guaranteed not only her European selection but Commonwealth Games place as well at March's British Championships after retaining both her 100m and 200m backstroke titles.
Simmonds has slowly but surely been edging closer to a maiden senior international long course medal having finished seventh and fifth in the 200m backstroke at the 2007 and 2009 World Championships respectively and sixth at the Olympics in Beijing.
And Simmonds – whose only senior international long course medal came in the form of European 4x100m medley relay gold in 2008 – believes she can make the jump up to the podium in Hungary despite training solely for the Commonwealth Games.
"The Europeans will present me with a great opportunity to race fast at that point in the season and how prepared I am for that will be decided nearer to the time," said Simmonds.
"I feel as if I am making the right steps, you don't really think about what you have done previously too much when you get to a major championships but it is in your mind.
"You do think 'I have made an Olympic final and world finals' and you can only take confidence from that and say 'there is no reason why I can beat these people'.
"There comes a day when everyone has to be defeated and why can't I be the one who beats the people at the top of my event?
"I want to win medals – that is why I train and why I go to competitions.
"We don't go there to be finalists.
"That is an obvious step on the way to winning medals and as a youngster that was a fantastic achievement.
"But the next step for me is definitely to be winning medals and hopefully this year will be my year."
