THUGS WHO DID THIS BROUGHT TO JUSTICE
TWO teenagers have admitted a brutal street attack that left a father of two needing facial reconstruction surgery.
Father-of-two and engineer Stephen Swallow (43) was beaten with a piece of wood, kicked and punched so badly that his jaw separated from his face in the attack in Lincoln city centre on June 28.
Darren Wheeler (19), of St Rumbold's Street, Lincoln, and a 17-year-old boy admitted grievous bodily harm with intent at Lincoln Crown Court yesterday.
Both Wheeler and the youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will be sentenced on November 21.
They were both told to expect to be locked up.
Speaking after the brief hearing before Judge John Machin at Lincoln Crown Court, Mr Swallow said: "I am pleased that Wheeler has finally decided to admit it.
"Having guilty pleas from both of them means that it's going to bring some closure to it all."
Wheeler and the youth were remanded in custody.
