TRAVEL: Update A52 overturned lorry - roads now clear after lorry spills its load of frozen chickens
Diversions have been removed after an earlier accident involving an overturned lorry which spilled its load of frozen chickens on the A52 between the A46 and A1 junctions.
The A52 was closed in both directions between the A1 junction in Barrowby and Saxondale Island, Bingham, due to an overturned lorry.
Traffic heading westbound was sent on a 28 mile route via the A1 north to Newark and south to Bingham, while eastbound traffic was being sent via the A46, A607 and A1.
Meanwhile, resurfacing work in Newark Road, Lincoln is expected to cause some delays. Highways officials will fine tune the phasing of temporary traffic lights to reduce congestion as much as possible but motorists are advised to avoid the area at rush hour if possible.
