TV challenge results to be revealed
Hi-tech gadgets have been put to the test by TV presenters who were filming at a Lincoln fitness centre.
Six weeks ago, presenters of Channel 5's The Gadget Show underwent various tests at the University of Lincoln's multi-million pound fitness and performance centre.
And now they have returned to see if using a Nintendo Wii Fit or a Power-Plate my5 has improved their overall health.
Superbike queen Suzi Perry had the Wii Fit and presenting colleague and Lincoln lad Jason Bradbury had the Power-Plate my5 – a state-of-the-art vibration exercise machine which is used by professional football clubs across the country.
Suzi said that although she had great fun with the Wii Fit she is not convinced it could replace a good workout.
“For the first few weeks it was a lot of fun. Some of the games are quite hysterical especially when you get a load of mates together,” she said.
“But I had to give up my usual training regime for this so, as a method of keeping fit and if you used only this, I'm not sure you would see a difference.
The two presenters were put through their paces by university senior lecturer Hannah McGill who tested them with press-ups, sit-ups and a variety of three second stretches and holds to monitor their progress.
Viewers will have to wait around four weeks to see if Suzi and Jason's fitness improved as the pair were keeping tight-lipped about the results.
The Gadget Show is on Channel Five on Monday nights from 8pm.
