Tamworth 1 Lincoln City 0 - full-time
An early goal from Lloyd Kerry earned Tamworth a slender 1-0 win against Lincoln City this afternoon as both sides had their captain sent-off in a chaotic game at the Lamb.
Kerry struck after just 43 seconds when he latched onto a smart pass from Shaun Jefferies to prod the ball beyond Paul Farman.
Lincoln recovered well from that early setback with Peter Bore, Vadaine Oliver and David Morgan going within inches of grabbing an equaliser.
The game then took an angry turn midway through the half when Gary Mills and Richard Tait became involved in an off-the-ball tussle.

Substitutes from both benches then raced towards the dressing rooms as the fracas threatened to continue.
The referee held the game up until everybody had returned as the rest of the half passed without incident.
After the restart, Lincoln started reasonably well and dominated possession for large spells, but despite plenty of huffing and puffing, could not find an equaliser.
Lincoln: Farman, Gray, Boyce, Hutchison, Nutter, Sheridan, Mills, Fofana, Morgan, Bore, Oliver

“See I knew it , reverse psychology is a great thing. By slating DH & co at half time instead of full time seems to have worked on this occasion. good fight fight back boys.”

“Great start again against Nuneaton , Obviously your tactics are working Holdsworth. No matter what the end result is tonight Holdsworth must go in the morning along with Dorrian.”

“I am tending to agree with Vulcanimp, just wish Holdsworth would stop being a flipping "dinosaur" and change his tactics. As for Mills missing the next 3 games, admittedly, I have only attended 2 games so far this season, but for me, he hasn't shown anything to get me excited as yet, and looks a little "thick" around the middle, so I don't think he will be missed.
More importantly, we need to stop conceding goals. We have only succeeded in achieving this feat just the once so far in the league this season.
That is why I find it strange when people on here say that we need a goal scorer! and our defence is "solid and strong" yet we have only drawn a blank just once in ten games, which was on Saturday, and like I said, kept just one clean sheet!
Stop conceding, then you always have a chance of nicking a goal and walking away with all 3 points.
I also here people "slaughtering" Bore, which, for me is a tad unjust considering he is a "right back" and as yet not played in that position, yet Gray who is a midfielder, playing at right back.”

“He might have a good chance of the WW job though after becoming caretaker.”

“I wonder if Gareth Ainsworth would fancy the challenge as he has been player coach at Wycombe for quite a while now, and probably would fancy the chance of player manager here as he still gets on the Wycombe score sheet.”

“Very few prospective managers would be interested in taking over from DH with the playing budget he has worked with. As for John Ward I can't remember him putting himself forward when times were better at Lincoln and with the current financial plight of the club we cannot afford to sack another manager.
When most first choice players are fit and playing will be a better time to judge DH on his own performance. I am as baffled as other people at some of the line ups and tactics used by him so far but he can only work with the players he has available. On this note I hope Gary Mills has been hit with a hefty fine for his behaviour last Saturday, as captain he should lead by example and now we are without his services for the next 3 matches.
I am hoping for a similar commitment from the players tonight as they put in against Hyde and if they can improve their performance as well the right result should follow.”

“DelrioImp yes I do take your point, I was being a tad cynical, as I would rather see someone with new, modern tactics, a sense of vibrancy, rather than another "old school" manager, that manages players in the same manner as he was managed, dating back to the 30's. Someone to break "the mould" as it were.
With regards to John Ward, when you say he knows "this club well",to my knowledge he hasn't had any involvement with Lincoln City for some 30 years now, the club of today would be very different from those days.
His managerial experience is not exactly great either, so for me, he is not someone who would jump out at me to be honest.
No, if Holdsworth is shown the door, I would like to see a young manager with a modern way of thinking, and modern style of management, and not some old dinosaur, or young manager with dinosaur tactics and management style.”
