SUNDAY sees the final of the Lincolnshire County Cricket League's main knockout competition, the George Marshall Trophy.

Alkborough play fellow Premier League side Caistor at Grimsby Town's Augusta Street ground (1.30pm start).

Tomorrow sees Premier Division leaders Messingham in action at fifth-placed Haxey.

Paul Bell's second-placed Barton Town are without a game, giving fourth-placed Caistor the opportunity to take advantage if they can deliver the goods during a derby visit to mid-table South Kelsey.

Local pride will also be at stake when third-from-bottom Scunthorpe Town host Adam Barker's relegation-threatened Appleby-Frodingham 2nds.

There's an important match in prospect at Cross O'Cliff Court for Stuart Fraser-Cattanach's Bracebridge Heath 2nds. The second-from-bottom side enjoy home advantage against seventh-ranked Cleethorpes 2nds.

Third-placed Alkborough – facing a difficult three games in as many days – open with a trip south to Horncastle, who are eighth.

The Division One programme sees major interest centred on the north-east of the county.

Bottom plays top when Cleethorpes 3rds welcome high-flying Cherry Willingham to Chichester Road.

Meanwhile, just a few miles away at Tetney Lane, Holton-le-Clay entertain promotion-chasing Alford.

Outcasts host lowly Nettleham 2nds at Hirst Priory, third-placed Broughton have home advantage against Scothern, while Louth 2nds visit Hykeham.

Division Two is enjoying an exciting four-team pursuit of the two promotion places on offer, involving Messingham 2nds, Market Rasen, Grimsby Town 2nds and Caistor 2nds.

Messingham are at home to lowly Cleethorpes 4ths, Grimsby visit Alkborough 2nds, Rasen take on Hartsholme 2nds, while Caistor host Haxey 2nds.

In Division Three, Washingborough, having a praiseworthy first season at this level, entertain Broughton 2nds, trying hard to preserve their status. Matt Dobson's Cherry Willingham 2nds will look to add to their chances of avoiding the drop when hosting Barton Town 2nds.

There's a full Monday programme in the Premier Division, the pick being at Brigg Road, where Caistor Town host Messingham.

Also with an eye on the championship, Barton Town journey to Bracebridge Heath 2nds.

Alkborough complete their hectic spell at home to Haxey, while Scunthorpe Town host Horncastle and Cleethorpes 2nds take on Appleby-Frodingham 2nds at Chichester Road.

Premier Division games start at 1pm, matches in all other sections get underway at 1.30pm.

All teams playing at home tomorrow must note that match scores and highlights need to be phoned through to Glen Sands on 01724 798853. Sunday and Monday match scores should be phoned to 01652 655134 as usual.
