A fourth doubles title in a row has given tennis professional Jade Windley a promising start to the 2013 season.

Windley and partner Sam Murray took the doubles title in the recent indoor hard court $10,000 event in Preston with a two sets to one win over Tara Moore and Melanie South.

Last year, Windley won her final three doubles events of the season in Vallduxo, Spain, Edgbaston and Loughborough. And to start the new season with a win has raised hopes of a Wimbledon appearance this summer.

"It was great to start the new year with another doubles win," she said.

"That makes it four wins in the last four events, with three different partners."

The win at Preston will continue Windley's rise up the doubles world rankings.

She is currently ranked 337 in the world at doubles, but will need to be under 250 to be considered for a place in the Wimbledon main draw later this year.

Windley, from Tattershall, will continue her quest for ranking points next week when she heads to Grenoble, France, for a $25,000 indoor tournament.

"I have to step up in the quality of the events I play to keep my ranking going in the right direction," added Windley.

"That has to be my aim this year. My injuries of last season slowed my progress, but now I am feeling fit and I am hitting the ball well.

"Wimbledon is a dream, and I will continue trying for it. I need to keep moving up the world rankings."
