Thanksgiving service to honour the forces
MEMBERS of the public are invited to attend a service of thanksgiving service to mark Armed Forces Day on Saturday, June 29.
The service takes place at the War Memorial at 10.50am and has been organised by the Boston branch of the Royal British Legion which will be in Veterans way on the same day from 10am until 3pm.
Spokesman Alison Lynch said: "It is our aim to meet as many of the Armed Forces community both past and present.
"Our Armed Forces are involved in many different tasks, the biggest being delivering our support and security to Afghanistan. They offer peacekeeping, border patrols, security and counter terrorism roles around the world which has seen, them being away from home for many months at a time.

During Boston's event in Veterans Way, a gazebo will be put up in the grounds with RBL members on hand to offer help, support and advice. The Forces, Family and Friends Support Circle will also to show support during deployment and difficult times or to give advice when going through the transition from serving personnel to veteran.
The branch will also having a Prize Draw to raise funds for the legion. Prizes include a weekend test drive of an Audi TT donated by Boston Audi, an inside Hangar Tour for Lincolnshire Aviation at East Kirby and numerous shopping and meal vouchers. Tickets are £1 each or £5 per book.
The service will be started and brought to a close by The Coningsby Military Wives Choir and will be seeing the RBL announce their Armed Forces Hero and Armed Forces Family Hero.
