Thieves attempt break-in to Waitrose cash machines
Would-be thieves smashed a hole in the wall of a Lincoln supermarket in a failed attempt to break into three ATM cash machines.
Police were called to the Waitrose store on Searby Road at 7.38am this morning.
It is believed the attempted theft happened between 4pm on Sunday and 7.30am today.
Investigations are still ongoing, but it is thought that the offenders left empty handed.

The machines were sealed off from the public this morning, with a police officer standing guard.
Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen three men dressed in dark hoodies who were seen in the vicinity of the ATMs between 8pm and 10.30pm yesterday evening.
Officers also want to talk to anyone who used the machines yesterday or who may have seen any suspicious activity.
Steve Ward, branch manager at Waitrose in Lincoln, said: "We are open as normal, but have shared our CCTV footage with the police and are continuing to support them with their enquiries."
