Thug shoots cats while owner laid in hospital
Menace Catlin, of Lady Meers Road in Cherry Willingham, was recuperating from an operation in Nottingham when Ozzy and Crackers were attacked.
The 47-year-old, now back at home after treatment for vulval cancer, was told her cat Ozzy had come into the house dazed on October 10.
And it was not until her husband Bruce returned home from work that the full extent of the sickening attack became clear.
“My daughter said Ozzy looked a bit spaced out.

“He suffers from epilepsy so I said he had probably had a fit,” she said.
“I said to give it an hour but he hadn’t moved.
“My husband came home from work and the cat still had not moved.
“He took Ozzy to the vets who confirmed he had been shot with a pellet gun.
“Ozzy was left at the vets and when they got home they found Crackers hidden on the kitchen units and that is when they realised he had been shot too.
“The wounds are on the same side and in the same place.
“After the x-rays, the vet said the pellet had done something to the kidney so Ozzy has lost a kidney.
“Crackers still has the pellet in him as it could do more damage removing it.
“These are just innocent animals, what if it was a child walking down the street?”
Mrs Catlin called the police who carried out door to door enquiries to try to find the heartless thug responsible for the attack.
And she said the whole incident stopped her children Leigh, 16 and Danny, 14, from visiting her in hospital.
“The vet says the wounds are not at an angle so we are thinking the shots may have been fired from a kitchen window,” she said.
“My children were distraught. As all of this was happening, they could not come to see me in hospital which made them upset which made me upset. I just feel hatred towards whoever did this. It is the second time Crackers has been shot.
“I have got four cats and one of the others got shot through the mouth and lost two teeth.”
Lincolnshire Police are investigating the incident.
Spokesperson Jemma Peacock said: “We would appeal for anybody with any information regarding this incident to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
“People should call the non-emergency 101 number quoting incident 360 of October 10.”
