Gainsborough Trinity boss Steve Housham will be wondering how his side took just one point from a game they dominated from start to finish.

Corby, for their part, will return to Northamptonshire happy with their two first half goals which came from just two first half shots.

Steve Housham made five changes from the starting line-up that faced Chester in the FA Cup last week, with Dominic Knowles, Liam Henderson, Michael Leary, Craig Nelthorpe and Jonathan D'Laryea the men coming in.

In the first minute a superrb Terry Hawkridge pass set up Knowles for a shot on goal. Paul Walker was equal to it and made the save. The Blues enjoyed a series of chances with Knowles also having a shot cleared off the line.

After six minutes, Trinity had the ball in the net, but Henderson was in an off-side position when he received the ball from Knowles. A minute later, Trinity threatened again when Josh Wild's cross was put wide by Henderson.

After 21 minutes it all turned around for Corby. Sam Ives scored on a rare break for his side, before former Trinity man Ryan Semple added a second with a cracking finish just a minute later.

Just before the half hour mark, a Trinity corner saw Nelthorpe swing the ball in and Danny Hone's header was inches wide. But the Trinity pressure finally told when a free-kick from Josh Wilde was inch perfect for Waterfall to head into the corner after 37 minutes.

Just before half time, Henderson's overhead kick curled just wide as Trinity pressed again.

Six minutes into the second half and Trinity were level. A great cross from the left by Nelthorpe was headed home by Knowles for his first goal for the club.

Just after the hour mark, Hawkridge raided down the right and laid the ball off to Roma, but his cross found Knowles in an off-side position. Trinity enjoyed most of the possession in the second half with Henderson, with a turn and shot and Hone with a flying header both going close.

Another Trinity raid saw a Nelthorpe free-kick searching out Waterfall at the back post, but his looping header was just too high.
