Gainsborough Trinity boss Steve Housham expected a reaction from his players following this week's announcement that chairman Peter Swann will stand down at the end of this season.
And Housham proved to be spot on in his prediction as his team upped their work rate to pull off their first win of the season away at Vauxhall Motors.

Trinity got off to the best of starts when Luke Waterfall's
header was deflected by Chris Noone and away from Zac Jones in the Vauxhall goal to give the Blues a 1-0 lead after just four minutes.
But the home side were back on level terms after 10 minutes, when James Ellison's shot
towards goal was brilliantly saved by Jan Budtz, but Tom Rutter followed up with a low
shot to beat the Trinity keeper.
Neither side were finding their best form, with both teams opting for long balls when all else failed. Striker Paul Connor sealed the three points for Gainsborough
with a stooping header from a Terry Hawkridge free-kick on 63 minutes.
The goal brought some of the swagger back to the
Trinity side, who began to dominate possession in the later stages of the
game.
That confidence was displayed by second half substitute Ryan Williams, who attempted a
speculative shot from the half way line with Jones out of his goal. This was a vital first win for Trinity and comes ahead of a tough-looking home clash against Altrincham on Tuesday evening.
