“What astounds me is why the people of Lincolnshire continue to vote for the party that really does not give a toss about it because the people will always vote for them. Bloody sheep!”

“Hahahaha!
When Labour narrowly won a recent council by-election with an equally small turnout, their shills both on here and elsewhere were all trumpeting the result as a great win and a damning condemnation of the coalition. Now that they've come fourth behind UKIP and the Lib Dems... sorry, I'm just going to have to say that again for the pure comedy value... now that LABOUR has come FOURTH BEHIND UKIP and the LIB DEMS, it's not really a proper result because it's all down to the area and voter apathy :D :D :D
However, congratulations must definitely go to the English Democrats for nearly gaining twice as many votes there were spoiled ballots... cracking stuff!”

“Apathy, ambivalance, many ways of putting it. Whilst I speak for no one else but myself, in my view, common sense, procrastination, political correctness and self centred pompous greed is high on my list of reasons why I would be part of that 86% if I lived in that area.
I've been fleeced all of my working life whilst watching people and countries laugh in my face whilst they take their free handouts and will not put a cross against anyone's name, person or party, and encourage them to shaft me at every turn - none of them ever deal with it, therefore, that's the reason why I'm out!”

“Liberal or Conservative, ConDem, all the same really. The vote share showing the apathy which is exploited to the detriment of the voting public. As said many times you get what you vote or don't vote for, in this case ending up with more failing services for vulnerable children and the elderly. this will remain the legacy of this appalling, and inept County Council.”

“I don't suppose many people have noticed but RG is standing in some non-event for Police Commissioner. Anyone remember the original tv series of Batman with Adam West? There was a Police Commissioner in that, whenever things got a bit pear-shaped he shone a symbolic light on the clouds.s”

“This is the same Jackie Brockway who was elected as a Liberal Democrat member for West Lindsey - but then changed her alleigance to the Conservatives in 2009
.
An apathetic electorate have voted for a politician who likes to run with the fox and hunt wth the hounds”

“"Huge win??"
Almost half of a vote in which only 28% of the electorate could be bothered to turn out is not an overwhelming victory at all. Spun around the result says that 86% of people in the constituency either didn't want her as a representative or they couldn't care less who represents them. This simply shows the ambivilance people now have toward a generally uninspiring crop of politicians at all levels.”

“This is of no surprise considering the area which the by-election took place.”
