Town businesses bare all for Alford Exposed charity calendar
BUSINESSES in Alford have shown their cheeky sides by baring all for a charity calendar.
Bravely organised by mobile hairdressers Sandra Hall and Joanne Rook, Alford Exposed, hopes to raise £2,000 for Alford's Almshouses that are currently appealing for help towards their refurbishment.
Joanne said: "I had the idea of a calendar girls style calendar last year involving my ladies that come to my salon but it never came off.
"We had been talking about it earlier this year then when we saw the article in the Target about the Almshouses and thought it was the perfect charity as Sandra's grandma lived there for many years."

Joanne and Sandra then got together to approach the businesses within the town to make the calendar as diverse as possible.
Sandra said: "Some people said no straight off, some said yes but were a little nervous about it but everyone thought it was a great idea.
"I think there was a lot of debating in some shops who would and wouldn't take part in the pictures but all in good spirit."
The theme is the individual business and most are set in the business itself whether it be a shop, pub or workshop using only what they sell, or use to make a living, to cover their modesty.
Sandra added: "All were taken from inside the business apart from a couple which caused a few strange looks from dogwalkers, joggers and the farmer on the public footpath near my house."
Businesses involved are; Kwik-e-mart, J B Flower designs, Derek Chapman body repairs, The Handyman, The Cafe on the Cobbles, Angelene's patisserie, Reflections windows, James' Cycles, The White Hart, Callabys stores, P and N Pitcher and Jo and Sandra themselves.
Joanne said: "Initially it was a little embarrassing for people having the photos taken but it was all very relaxed and we had a lot of laughs.
"Sandra and I were on hand to help with hair and make up and there were sometimes a few drinks involved to ease the tension.
"It was a very liberating experience and most people say they would definitely do it again although one guy enjoyed it a little too much and we couldn't get him to put his clothes back on."
Calendars are available from all participating businesses priced at £6.50 with all proceeds going to the Almshouses.
