Town pupils are record breakers with art project
SIXTY-ONE pupils at a Gainsborough school have taken part in an official world record ratified by Guinness.
The Queen Elizabeth's High School year 10s were among 201,948 children who set a new global best for most artists working on the same installation.
Face Britain was organised by The Prince's Foundation for Children & the Arts – and involved pupils who created their own self-portraits and uploaded them onto an on-line gallery.
At the end of the year they will also become part of history in the making when the entire collection of portraits will be handed over to The British Library.

The children's self-portraits were combined to form an image of HM The Queen that was projected onto Buckingham Palace for three nights in April to coincide with the monarch's birthday.
Marie Muir, head of art at QEHS, said: "It's been wonderful to be involved in the UK's largest ever art project and great to know that the portraits will become part of history.
"And it's so exciting to learn that our pupils have become record-breakers as well.
"All our 61 students involved submitted a computer manipulated image of themselves to the project."
Face Britain was open to anyone aged between four and 16, regardless of drawing ability.
