Transsexual sues ex-employers after she 'was sacked for dressing as a woman'
A TRANSSEXUAL is suing her former employers, claiming she lost her job after she came to work dressed as a woman.
Rachel Millington, 24, has been living as a woman for a year ahead of undergoing hormone therapy next year and eventually gender reassignment surgery.

But Rachel, who was formerly called Andrew, is taking her former employer to tribunal next month.
Miss Millington, of Thurlby Crescent, Ermine, Lincoln, claims the company terminated her contract as a support worker working with adults with learning difficulties, but does not know why.
She says this happened in September, shortly after she changed her name from Andrew by deed poll and came to work dressed as a woman.
She said: "This is the longest time I've been out of work and I don't want to be signing on.
"I don't think people are aware that there are people like me out there and that I'm not hurting anyone."
The company declined to comment ahead of the tribunal hearing.

“Out of all these messages, the most shocking to me is that people still believe in god. Next you'll be telling me the tooth fairy made him and santa gave him the wrong bits.”

“Dan - flying isn't natural, yet we all do it to go on holiday. Are you going to go out and try to stop the planes?”

“I realise that some people change their name on here as often (more often?) than their underwear but, for what it's worth, there are 28 people supporting Rachel and only 6 who have a problem. I've counted; and yes, it has been a busy day. :)”

“What gives you people the right to judge, what rachel choses to do with her life is up to her. she doesnt need cruel ignorant people bringing her down! she isn't harming anybody with what she is doing, and its her OWN right to choose this path in life. People are ignorant to gender changes because they refuse to understand or want to understand. You hear people say its not normal, well what is normal? I think its completely normal and to anyone going through this as well as rachel.... you are human like the rest of us and you should be proud! its not easy and people dont make it any easier for you. I support you rachel all the way! xxx Hannah xxx”
