Triple gold medal joy for veteran athlete Dot Fraser
FOUR of Lincoln Wellington's powerful veteran contingent competed at the British Masters Championships in Cardiff, and all returned with medals.
In the W70 age group, the remarkable Dot Fraser made a significant addition to her medal haul, accumulated over many seasons, by taking gold in the 100m (17.64), 200m (37.48) and 400m (89.81).

She also collected a bronze medal for third place in the hammer with 17.95m.
In the same age group, Betty Stracey also won gold in the 800m with a time of 3:51.13.
In a tough two days of competition she also won silver medals in the 1,500m in 7:32.59 and in the 5,000m in 26:29.48.
Jon Hughes took his first championship medal with silver in the 1,500m in the M55 category in 4:50.14.
He returned the following day and just missed a further medal in the 800m with fourth place.
Wellington's Susy Ardron, won her first medals with bronze in both the 1,500m (5:29.62) and 800m (2:43.50).
