The festival is being organised as the final showcase for the two-year £180,000 Dance4Life project which aims to increase the number of adults involved in dance across Lincolnshire.

Keyna Paul, director of Lincolnshire Dance, the parent organisation of the Dance4Life programme, said: "This festival is our way of shouting about all the good work we've been doing.

"We're expecting the event to be very popular, so we're encouraging people to take advantage of the free tickets and book a place as soon as possible."

Classes also include Egyptian dancing, salsa classes and a chance to try Bollywood and Zumba, among others.

"It really will be something spectacular and we hope that anyone taking part will develop a passion for dancing," added Ms Paul.

VIPs from Lincolnshire will be invited to watch the dance demonstrations and there will be displays charting the stories of those who have been involved with the project.

Anyone who wants to take part in the free event on November 17 can travel for free on coaches from Holbeach, Bourne, Spilsby, Bardney, Wragby and Scotter.

The next day, Lincoln, Spilsby, Holbeach, Binbrook and Scotter will play host to traditional ceilidhs.

Live bands will play at each venue, with instructors and dancers who have been attending classes kicking off the event which runs from 2pm to 5pm.

Sally-Anne McWilliam teaches Bollywood to Hollywood classes which is a fusion of Indian and burlesque dance moves.

"The event will give my ladies the opportunity to demonstrate the hard work they have put in practising their dance routines," she said.

Dance teacher Sarah Hill, who teaches the Freedom in Dance class at Holbeach, added: "There is a real buzz of excitement as we prepare for this wonderful celebration weekend."
