'Alien' visitors have been 'seen' over Lincolnshire more in the past year than any other, according to new figures.

Reports from the Ministry of Defence show that last year, eight people called claiming they had witnessed visitors from outer-space tracking the county's skies.

This compares with a total of just 13 sightings for the five years between 2003 and 2007.

Reports came in from all over the county, including areas over RAF bases, the city centre and villages.

The last called logged by the MoD was December 21, at 5.30pm.

The caller from Scunthorpe said: "A bright flashing "star" in south west sky. Too bright for a star. Like a fireball.

"It repeatedly got bright and then died down. Looked big but pretty far away."

Other descriptions varied from "exceedingly large lights" and "moving in an arc" to "12 lights in no formation" and "an inverted V-shape of seven dull lights".

But the MoD say it isn't planning on investigating the increase.

A spokesman said: "The MoD examines reports solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised military activity.

"Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting reported."

“Many people, besides myself, must have seen the very bright light, that begins it's journey, from the east of Sleaford, and travels west, as far as the Grantham area, but all the time moving in a VERY erratic fashion, up- down and sideways. There are many more at a much higher level, and all behaving in the same manner. Can be easily any clear night, A logical explanation would be nice, but not one from some of the idiots, with pygmy minds. Anybody who thinks that we are the only form of life in this vast universe, must have a miniscule mind.”

“Yes, paul is indeed correct. As someone who worked for NASA in the 60s, I can confirm that we took those first photos of Mars, travelled through time into the late 80's, used Photoshop to make them look red and then returned back through time to release them to the general public. We also made sure all the other space agencies around the world did exactly the same thing in order to maintain the conspiracy.”

“Nicely said ray., heres another arguement..mars, why the intrest for the last 44 years ?
mars ain't red, nasa photoshop the images before releasing them to the public giving it a red look, (can't substain life look), mars as a light blue atmosphere almost like our own, trees, lakes and plenty of artifacts, to say that it substained life in the past or even now. If another planet resolved 1 million years before this one look at the head start they would have on us.”

“To:Cheesy Bob, Space...the final front ear

    source BBC
"The current research estimates that there are at least 361 intelligent civilisations in our Galaxy and possibly as many as 38,000.
The work is reported in the International Journal of Astrobiology. While researchers often come up with overall estimates of the likelihood of intelligent life in the universe, it is a process fraught with guesswork; recent guesses put the number anywhere between a million and less than one. "

Ok well looking at the size of the cosmos you wouldhave to be pretty stupid not to think there is any advanced civilisation out there similar to earth, the only problem with people who think in the box instead of outside of the box is they cant understand how can it be possible to travel vast distances? and yes Einsteins theory of relativity accounts for this. So traveling at speeds unimaginable to our little brains should theoretically make the journey rather short. Anyway thats thinking in terms of space but what about dimensions? you know they have successfully teleported in the lab at an atomic level so i see no reason why this is not possible by a very advanced intelligence such as the ones visiting the Earth now commonly witnessed by respectable pillars of society.”

    “To Ray...Citation Needed.

Maths offers the most substantial theory that there is extra-terrestrial life in the universe. However, in no way shape or form has that life contacted or visited us. Again, maths proves that this is an impossibility.

All it is is eager minds mistaking things for other things. Kind of like religion really.....”

“I liked the story about the ufo (possibly), hitting a wind turbine. Surely a race of intergalactic beings with the technology to travel billions of miles at close to the speed of light would have been able to direct their ship past a windmill in a sparse area of northern Lincolnshire? I would hope so anyway.”
