Police and the East Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the incident in Spring Gardens, near the Marshall’s Yard retail park entrance in Gainsborough.
Emergency services went to the scene at just after 11am following the collision between the cyclist and the white Renault HGV.
It happened near the traffic lights in Spring Gardens, on the corner of Beaumont Street – outside the main entrance to the West Lindsey District Council’s Guildhall headquarters.
The woman, from Gainsborough, was seriously injured and airlifted by ambucopter to Hull Royal Infirmary.
At 4pm today police said they expected the road closure to continue until at least 6pm.
Police diverted traffic to and from the Marshall’s Yard shopping centre through Beaumont Street, Spital Terrace and Cross Street.
Marshall’s Yard spokesman Amanda Holmes said: “The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance landed in the service yard area to the rear of Marshall’s Yard following the accident on Beaumont Street on Wednesday morning.
“As soon as they were made aware of the incident, our staff were on the scene to assist the police and help in directing traffic.”
Gainsborough Church Street Cycles’ proprietor Trevor Halstead said: “Any serious accident involving a cyclist is an absolute tragedy.
“Our thoughts are with this lady’s family.”
Anyone who saw the crash can call the Lincolnshire Police collision witness hotline on 01522 558855, quoting incident 118 of March 13.

“Leosaphira's comments are well taken however as someone who grew up in Britain knows full well the "tiny streets".
It is just idiotic to have these behemoths (monsters) traversing the centres of towns like Gainsborough. I fully realize a fairy doesn't wave a magic wand, but something has to be done to halt the onslaught of ever bigger trucks.
One idea is to have vehicles half the size, make deliveries from distribution warehouses scattered around the country. This would add to the cost I'm sure, but these large HGV's should not be in town centres. Britain is not the States or Canada or for that matter Australia with the luxury of space and it shouldn't try to emulate those countries. Soon the country will be paved over with ashphalt to accommodate these monsters.
Maybe I'm living in wonderland. Probably am.”

“"tiny street" ha! this is Britain and that is a "normal street" - we don't have the luxury of space like those in the US of A
Anyhow in the UK how do you expect the items you want to buy in the shops to get to the shelves?, A fairy doesn't turn up in the night to wave the wand and everything appears... its folk who drive these "be...ths" as you call them carry the goods. And there is a human being behind the wheel as welll.
I have taken trucks this size down little one way streets with "just" enough room and accidents do happen. Don't forget that when planners did Marshalls yard the road had to be redone so trucks can get in and out of the shopping area and the tank manufacturing plant that is behind marshalls yard
As a trucker myself I can see from the photos that driver took the turning wide to get round the bend as its a sharp left turn. However I will not be jumping to any conclusions until the police do their job to put the blame on who ever..
So all the best to lady and not to forget the driver of the driver as well, to get behind the wheel as soon as he/she can and take any help offered as well. I know for a fact having any accidents either drivers fault or not can destroy ones mental well being as it plays on the mind (seen it happen may a time from my fellow HGV work colleagues).”

“Seeng the picture of the truck and the tiny street, no wonder there are accidents. I live in North America and that truck would not look out of place on our Interstates. You should keep those be****ths away from the town centres.
Just hope the lady recovers.”
