United Lincolnshire Hospitals appoint new medical director
The United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has appointed a new medical director to oversee their drive to become a patient-led organisation.
Gastroenterological specialist Dr Suneil Kapadia is an experienced clinician who has demonstrated a sustained commitment to patient care with particular emphasis on quality and service development.
He has been involved with the British Society of Gastroenterology at a national level, representing the body at the Health Service Select Committee and at Downing Street meetings.
He has moved to Lincolnshire following his last posting at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals Trust, where he spent 13 years as clinical director for medicine, gastroenterology and sexual health.

His work included developing governance strategies, supporting colleagues, modernising medical practice, and developing a vision for care of the elderly in both the acute and community sectors, and he oversaw the upgrading of the stroke unit.
He combined his role with studying for an MSc in medical leadership.
It is hoped that Dr Kapadia’s extensive background will bring strong clinical direction to ULHT and ensure that senior decisions regarding medical services are clinically led, putting the patients’ needs first.
