VIDEO: Lincolnshire's Ella Henderson 'relieved' by X Factor elimination

Ella Henderson admits she's "relieved" to be voted off the X Factor and is looking ahead to focus on her debut album.

The talented Tetney teenager went head-to-head with James Arthur in Sunday's sing off, performing a heart-wrenching version of Daniel Bedingfield's If You're Not The One.

Judges Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger opted to send 16-year-old Ella home while Louis Walsh and Tulisa stood by her and voted to eliminate James, sending the decision to deadlock.

And to the surprise of the studio audience and millions watching around the country, it was announced that Ella would be leaving the competition after receiving the fewest public votes.

Speaking on The Xtra Factor, Ella said she was "not shocked" to be in the bottom two.

And in an interview with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby today on This Morning, she announced: "I felt a lot of pressure to improve every week.

"I woke up this morning part gutted but most of me was relieved and excited about 2013.

"I hope I can go away now to write an album and release it.

"Everyone assumed that I'd go through to the final but so much good stuff is going to come off the back of this for me."

Ella also explained that she had a "gut feeling" she was going to be eliminated.

"I think you know when it's going to happen", she said on The Xtra Factor.

"The other contestants, when I chat with them, they're going to know what I mean.

"Saturday night for me I felt the most in control I've ever felt in a performance.

"But the thing I'm gutted about is that I haven't had the chance to do one of my originals. If I could do anything differently, it would be to go back and push to do one of my own.

"I'm definitely going to be supporting Union J - they're like my big brothers. And Jahmene, my little chicken."

Ella's mum Michelle Henderson said she was "incredibly proud" of what her daughter had achieved.

"I was worried about the song choice all week and I wasn't sure how well it would be received," she added.

"She's tried her hardest every week and we're all so proud of her for getting this far.

"Her music career most definitely isn't over and this won't be the last we hear from her.

"She's got so many amazing supporters and we want to thank everybody who helped her get this far."

Ella's father, Sean Henderson, said: "I am so happy that Ella has got to this stage of the competition and in each round we know she has given 100 per cent.

"Even though X Factor has ended, we know her music career hasn't."

Ella's mentor Tulisa was left speechless by the result when asked for her thoughts by Xtra Factor presenters Caroline Flack and Olly Murs.

"Words can't even express. Don't even ask my questions because I'm back to my urban roots," she said.

"Did you see and hear her last night? There was nothing about that performance you could fault and it's one of the best she's ever done."

The X Factor judge also speculated that Ella had lost the public vote because fans presumed she was safe.

She added: "I used to sit back and watch X Factor before I was a judge and I'd wait for a certain week to start voting - and that's the problem."

And Louis Walsh said that it was the biggest shock in the history of X Factor.

He said: "I thought Ella had so much more to give. She's only 16 and has so much potential.

"In the nine years of doing this show, I'm gobsmacked. Those two people didn't deserve to be in the bottom two."

James Arthur, who now moves on to week eight of the competition, said he was certain he would be eliminated if going up against our Ella.

"Ella is the strongest 16-year-old I've ever met in my life and the most talented 16-year-old in the country by a million miles," he said.

"I have no idea why she was in the bottom two but I thought I was a goner when I was up against her."

Controversial contestant and Ella's close friend Rylan Clark said he felt guilty and responsible for her elimination.

Fighting through tears on The Xtra Factor, he said: "Ella should be in the final. She's like a sister to me.

"100 per cent, I feel so guilty. I'm so gutted."
