“Maybe if the barriers didn't come down 5 full minutes before the train arrives this sort of thing would be less likely to happen. It's human nature to be impatient and that is worse when drunk - he maybe assumed after a few minutes that the barriers were stuck down and that a train wasn't coming.”

“whats the use of barriers on either crossing HIGH STREET / BRAYFORD they don.t take any notice and just cross any way there are 3 sets of lights at the brayford 1 set st marks 2nd set near the law building 3rd set king william v pub and the students don.t even use them . you cross the railway crossing the students bolt right in front of you so whats the point”

“The problem is that it's not just the person that gets hit,it's the mental damage done to drivers, passengers and everyone else who has to clean up the mess,it seems too obvious to make the barriers higher so there must be a reason why they havn't,I suspect its so that anyone who gets gets stuck on the line accidentally can escape easily.”

“"This really isnt a problem worth fixing is it? The barriers are there, they are clear, and its impossible to end up on the line by accident... If people want to leap the barriers, they know the risks and its their choice, it doesnt endanger anybody else"
I am sure the driver of the train would simply carry on, get to the end of his shift, have a pint and go to bed as normal running someone down and killing them. Also the family of the person would be non plussed as well.”

“Darwin almost took another one out of the gene pool. It'll only be a matter of time for that one i'd suggest....”

“ThisIsLincolnshire in your ceaseless attempt to cram this site full of advertisements, may i suggest that you have missed a trick in not attaching an advertising clip onto the start of this video that we must suffer through before getting to what we wanted to view.
How long will it be before we get the pleasure of an advert slotted inbetween every paragraph of your articles????”

“I would have to agree with SweepClean.

I think what should be prioritised, are level crossings with no barriers, or just half barriers.”

“also notice how clear the cctv is! if this cctv was to catch a mugger or other low life in the city the quality would dismal.”

“I would suggest even if a bridge was in place he would not have used it!”

“Just let them keep doing it if they are stupid enough, once hit by the train that'll be one idiot less in Lincoln to contend with.”
