A Victorian pleasure boat has been transported to a new home for restoration.

The Mary Gordon is now dry moored on concrete at a farm in Newtoft, near Faldingworth.

It was taken there from the Pyewipe Inn, near Lincoln, its home for more than 10 years after two cranes lifted the 52ft vessel onto a lorry for its latest voyage, below.

Once a popular attraction on the Brayford, the boat could be taking to the water again in two to three years' time after a £100,000 restoration.

The Mary Gordon Trust is appealing for the donation of a 55ft by 14ft polytunnel so that work can be done undercover.

Trust chairman Peter Harrold said: "What I want to do next is try to secure funding and get some local youngsters involved in the restoration project.

"I'm quite excited that things are starting to move now."
