Village to host war weekend
THE village of Rauceby will be stepping back in time to the 1940s as part of a war weekend held to remember people who have either given their life to, or survived the war.
Rauceby War Weekend will feature history displays, re-enactors, a large selection of military vehicles, classic cars and various stall holders.

Visitors will also be given the chance to take a ride in a tank.
Money raised for the event will go to Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and Help For Heroes.
The event has been organised by Mid Lincs MVT, a division of the Military Vehicle Trust.
The event organiser William Elkington added: "There will also be an amusement fair for the children and, weather permitting, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will do a flypast.
"This second War Years weekend follows on from the success of last year with everyone requesting another one.
"It has now been extended to three days."
Rauceby War Weekend will take place this weekend, Saturday August 28, 29 and 30.
A large marquee has also been booked and will host entertainment on Friday night as well as a 1940s dance, expected to attract 300 people on Saturday night. The dance will feature the Ockbrook Band, 17-piece Glenn Miller brass band, supported by Paul Harper, and singers Marina Mae and Peter Jones.
This is a ticket-only dance.
Tickets are £10 without a meal or £14 to include a meal from one of the food stalls if booked before the event.
Mr Elkington added: "I don't anticipate any tickets being left for the day but if there are prices will be £13 or £15 on the day.
"There will also be entertainment on the Sunday night, donations on entry and the marquee will also be used for various demonstrations like fashion shows, hair demonstrations and dancing classes."
