Vintage Ladies' Cocktail Evening in Sleaford to raise funds for cancer charities
A CHARITY event being planned by the parents of a six-year-old leukaemia sufferer has gained much support with the help of the Target.
Sara and Geoff Rogan-Mackintosh are organising the Vintage Ladies’ Cocktail Evening to mark what they hope will be the successful conclusion of their son Quinn’s three-year battle with the disease.
Quinn was diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of three after they noticed he had a limp and did not want to walk.
He has been receiving chemotherapy on regular basis and has to take chemotherapy pills. His chemotherapy is due to end in October and to mark this a Vintage Ladies’ Cocktail evening is being held in aid of Clic Sargent, Callum’s Cabin, Sebastion’s Action Trust, PASIC, and Over the Wall.

Following an appeal in the Target, many organisations and charities came forward.
The mum-of-six said: “The article in the Target really helped and we have acquired the talents of a professional singer called Mark Johnson, who read the article and volunteered.
“Go Dance from Sleaford are sending their Burlesque troupe to entertain the ladies, and Centre Stage Performing Arts are rehearsing a couple of 1940s numbers to perform on the evening.
“The Clothes Circuit in Sleaford are providing some wonderful outfits for the fashion show, which will be on sale straight from the cat-walk. We have bookings for various stalls from bespoke jewellery, vintage and customised clothes and retro home wares, hand-crafted items such as patchwork quilts, and even an ice-cream stall on a bicycle.”
Prizes have been donated for the raffle by local businesses including vouchers for meals at The Curio Cafe and No 20.
Hairdressers from Paluma in Lincoln have volunteered to tease hair into Victory Rolls and Hollywood updos on the night.
The Vintage Ladies’ Cocktail evening is being held on Saturday, September 22 at St Botolph’s Hall, Grantham Road, Sleaford in aid of various children’s cancer charities.
Tickets are on sale at Blanchards Coffee Shop at a special advance price of £5 each or alternatively £7 on the door.
Stalls are available for the evening at £10 each.
