A NEW scheme is being launched in Boston promoting volunteering as a path back to work for those without a job.

South Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service is running the two year project which will focus on the long- term unemployed, people with disabilities, migrant communities and the rurally-isolated.

Project leader Ruth Baldry said: "For people who have been out of work for some time, have a disability or don't have English as a first language, volunteering is a great way to meet people and increase your confidence and skills for whatever you want to do in life.

"People are often surprised by what volunteering opportunities there are out there. It's not all charity shops.

"There are admin roles, support and befriending, web design, trustee positions and much more."
