Vulcan grounded once more by technical issue over faulty break unit
TECHNICAL issues have once again grounded the problem-plagued Vulcan bomber.
The Avro Vulcan XH558 was unable to fly on Sunday at Farnborough due to a faulty brake unit.

The aircraft instead had to take part in the static line-up and offer visitors a guided tour.
It had been hoped problems for the aircraft were over after it managed to fly at the RAF Waddington Air Show earlier this month despite a last-minute battle with paperwork and maintenance.
This is the first technical issue which has prevented flights since the Vulcan to the Sky Trust was awarded its display permit this season.
Engineers are working on fixing the problem for future displays.
During the Cold War, Vulcan crews at bases in Lincolnshire were on 24-hour standby to take off at two minutes' notice and launch an attack on the Soviet Union.

“Amazing Architecture at the University? You've got to be having a laugh.
.
When the first building (now the main administrative building) was erected back in 1992. It stuck out as an incongruous eyesore against the historic backdrop of our cathedral.
Someone described it as looking like a nuclear powerstation with some railway carriages plonked on top.
Buildings erected since them are uninspiring”

“My neighbour was telling me the other day that his friend used to be an engineer and that XH558 was the worst in the fleet and they could not have made a bigger mistake.”

“How can you Call the University an 'eyesore' The architecture is amazing round there, especially places like the Library where new and modern developments helps bring old, useless spaces back to life ? We Cant always live is the past... its called moving on ? PROGRESS !”
